Have you ever had to wait for something? Waiting can be really hard. Sometimes you have to wait a day, weeks, months, or even years before you get your answer. Right now my wife and I are waiting to hear back from the underwriters on whether or not we are approved for our dream house in the woods. With us homeschooling our kids this would be the perfect place to live. Peace and quiet, nature studies once the temperature gets above 0 degrees, and seeing God’s creation surrounding us everyday. It’s hard to wait, but while waiting I keep trusting in the Lord that His Will will happen. Sometimes that can mean that the answers we want may not be the answers we get. Waiting and trusting in God though will ultimately get us what is best for us. This may mean that you have to continue to wait but as long as you keep trusting in God good things will come.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:24-26 NKJV
So no matter what you may be currently waiting for, keep on waiting and trusting in the Lord. He will bring His Blessing to you in the exact moment that is best for you. God Bless!
Being in retail the holiday season can take time away from your family, having to work extra hours and extra days. This holiday season was no exception, busy busy busy. The nice thing about the holiday season is that when it’s all over things slow down as people start to spend less to pay off all the money spent the last few months. This extra time has given me the chance to be able to take my two boys out and have some but bonding time, a Boys Night Out.
We decided to start it night out by doing a couple games of bowling. That the bowling place we went to you are able to pick the theme you want for the scoreboard above your lane. The characters that pop up for how you did that turn depend on the theme you chose. It was great to be able to cheer on each person and we all had a blast. After the bowling was done we headed in over to Pizza Ranch for supper, unlimited pizza and the best fried chicken. Another favorite of the night. Being able to hangout with the boys was great, after the last couple of crazy nights, and it reminded me of just how important family is.
Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord , The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.
Psalms 127:3-5 NKJV
I feel blessed to have all my children and my beautiful wife. Though the times may get tough and work may take time away, they will always be there to welcome you home. My family is a gift from God. May God Bless you and your family.
The new year is soon upon us and that means many people will be making new year resolutions. From eating healthy to exercising more these resolutions are made to better improve their lives. One resolution that you can make that is guaranteed to improve your life for years to come and beyond is reading your Bible more.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Romans 10:17 NKJV
Whether it’s starting a Bible plan, reading daily devotions, or committing to reading the entire Bible this coming year reading the Bible will help you improve your life. Being in God’s Word will help you gain faith, strength, wisdom, and a closeness to God. When I read the Bible I feel my days are better, less stressful, and more peaceful then when I have slacked on keeping in His Word. I hope and pray that you will consider reading your Bible more this coming year. Happy New Year and God Bless.
Talking with strangers can be difficult for some people. Sharing your faith with them can be even harder. Even if you know the person it can be difficult to start up a conversation with them about God if they are not a believer.
Back in the spring of 2000 I took a trip with my college’s Campus Crusade For Christ group to Panama City Beach Florida for spring break. Our mission was to go out onto the beaches and share our faith with those who had come to party and drink. Having given my life to Christ with my own faith just a year earlier (I grew up in a Christian home but was just living out my parents faith before then) I was still new to the reaching out to others scene. I remember talking to a few people on the beach, but I wasn’t as adventurous as others in our group. It wasn’t until a year and a half later, when I joined a group called Captive Free, where I felt confidant and courageous enough to go out and share my faith with strangers. With Captive Free I had the chance to travel through the Great Lakes area for a year in a van going from church to church spreading God’s Word to others, mostly the youth. I have to say that once I took that step outside of my comfort zone I felt more confidant with sharing my faith and telling others about Christ.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15 NKJV
Yeshuea Messiah (Jesus Christ) says that we should go out onto the world and preach the gospel. To preach the gospel not only are you sharing God’s Word but your also sharing your faith. Anyone can just read someone something, but for that reading to help change their life you also need to share your faith with them. That may even mean opening up a little more then your comfortable with and sharing about your past. Showing that you care and make it more understandable means you might have to share some of your faults it mistakes you’ve made in the past. This can seem hard or impossible but with God’s help anything is possible. If this is hard for you at first just pray for strength, courage, and wisdom. I know that you shall receive if you believe because God wants us to share His love with others. Have a great day and God Bless.
Tonight is Christmas Eve. A time when family and friends get together to celebrate the holiday and exchange gifts. This season I hope that you and your family remember the real reason to celebrate this season.
For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11 NKJV
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:16 NKJV
This season is a celebration of an everlasting gift. The birth of Yeshuea Messiah (Jesus Christ). May you and your family have a safe and happy holiday. Merry CHRISTmas. God Bless.
Ever have one of those seasons in your life when nothing seems to be going right? Right at the moment when things seem to be taking a turn for the better life just pushes you right back down? I think it’s safe to say that we have all experienced that at some point or another, maybe you are going through a tough time right now. Though things are going back towards the upswing, this is where I am right now. My job is management in retail and I think I’ve been called every name in the book. And if that’s not enough the higher ups can tend to be ruthless some days as well. I’m back in school to get into a new career, and a better job, but there are days when graduation day seems like it will never get here. It’s on days like this that I try to remember to trust in the Lord and rely on Him.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV
There can be days when you feel like it’s never going to get better. That your stuck in a storm like in the song “Praise You In This Storm” by Casting Crowns. That you may be stuck in the situation your in. But believe me if you keep trusting and following the Lord He will come through for you. The hardest part for me is keeping in mind that it is in His time and not ours. Only God knows what is best for us and what time. We may think we know what’s best but ultimately God knows. I’ve made the mistake in the past thinking that I know what’s best and it’s only made things that much harder. It can seem tough at the time to just stay where you are and trust God, but in the end you will be glad you did. He will always come through for you. God Bless.
Ever have someone hurt you, wrongfully accuse you, or bully you? We have all had someone do one, if not more, of these things to us.
Growing up I was definitely not one of the popular kids. I have a raspy voice, I walk a little hunched over, had a lazy eye, and my grades were average at best. I was the kid who was one of the first targets for bullies. I’ve been called Grandpa, hunchback, cross-eye, for eyes, among other things. I would be lying if I didn’t say that these things hurt me and probably helped form me into the person I am today. Looking back to those days I’ve chosen to forgive those who were mean. I can admit it wasn’t easy, but I think the easiest part is that I live a distance from where I grew up so I really don’t see these people anymore. Working in the retail world I can also deal with people who are mean and could be considered bullies. Again it can be hard to forgive and not let it affect me, but when I do struggle I just think of this verse.
“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you”
Matthew 5:44 NKJV
Yeshuea Messiah (Jesus Christ) says here in Matthew to bless those who curse you. He also has said to forgive them. Does that make what they did to you or me right? Most certainly not. It just no longer makes what they did continue to control our life. When Yeshuea was betrayed, beaten, ridiculed, and hung on the Cross He didn’t curse those who were doing it, He asked God to forgive them. If Yeshuea can do this while suffering through all that, we can follow suit and forgive those who hurt us. It can and will still be hard at times to do so, but with prayer God will help you to bless and forgive your enemies. God Bless.
