Have you ever had to wait for something? Waiting can be really hard. Sometimes you have to wait a day, weeks, months, or even years before you get your answer. Right now my wife and I are waiting to hear back from the underwriters on whether or not we are approved for our dream house in the woods. With us homeschooling our kids this would be the perfect place to live. Peace and quiet, nature studies once the temperature gets above 0 degrees, and seeing God’s creation surrounding us everyday. It’s hard to wait, but while waiting I keep trusting in the Lord that His Will will happen. Sometimes that can mean that the answers we want may not be the answers we get. Waiting and trusting in God though will ultimately get us what is best for us. This may mean that you have to continue to wait but as long as you keep trusting in God good things will come.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:24-26 NKJV
So no matter what you may be currently waiting for, keep on waiting and trusting in the Lord. He will bring His Blessing to you in the exact moment that is best for you. God Bless!
Talking with strangers can be difficult for some people. Sharing your faith with them can be even harder. Even if you know the person it can be difficult to start up a conversation with them about God if they are not a believer.
Back in the spring of 2000 I took a trip with my college’s Campus Crusade For Christ group to Panama City Beach Florida for spring break. Our mission was to go out onto the beaches and share our faith with those who had come to party and drink. Having given my life to Christ with my own faith just a year earlier (I grew up in a Christian home but was just living out my parents faith before then) I was still new to the reaching out to others scene. I remember talking to a few people on the beach, but I wasn’t as adventurous as others in our group. It wasn’t until a year and a half later, when I joined a group called Captive Free, where I felt confidant and courageous enough to go out and share my faith with strangers. With Captive Free I had the chance to travel through the Great Lakes area for a year in a van going from church to church spreading God’s Word to others, mostly the youth. I have to say that once I took that step outside of my comfort zone I felt more confidant with sharing my faith and telling others about Christ.
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
Mark 16:15 NKJV
Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ) says that we should go out onto the world and preach the gospel. To preach the gospel not only are you sharing God’s Word but your also sharing your faith. Anyone can just read someone something, but for that reading to help change their life you also need to share your faith with them. That may even mean opening up a little more then your comfortable with and sharing about your past. Showing that you care and make it more understandable means you might have to share some of your faults it mistakes you’ve made in the past. This can seem hard or impossible but with God’s help anything is possible. If this is hard for you at first just pray for strength, courage, and wisdom. I know that you shall receive if you believe because God wants us to share His love with others. Have a great day and God Bless.
