Money Money Money

Tis the season of spending money on material things. Everywhere you look, sales are happening or are going to be starting soon. People are going to be rushing to buy the latest and greatest things for their loved ones while they look at the things they would like to receive. While it is great to give to others, most people this time of year concentrate on the materials of this world rather than what should be most important.

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

- 1 Yochanon (1 John) 2:16 Cepher
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for Yahuah (Lord) has said, I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

-Ivriym (Hebrews) 13:5 Cepher

We should be concentrating on Yah (Lord), His Word, and be content with what we have. There are times when I have struggled with this. I find myself seeing what others have and what I don’t. I have wished that I could have a better job with more pay, even wishing that I could just work from home and be with family all day. Money is not everything. The more you have, the more you can end up wanting. I pray that we all can be content with what we have, knowing that Yah will be there for us if we just seek Him.

Shalom

June 17/Sivan 28

Shabbat Shalom! Here are this Sabbath’s Torah readings:

  • Numbers 15:27-41
  • Joshua 2:1-24
  • Hebrews 3:7-4:13

In today’s New Testament reading, we are reminded not to be like those who were with Moses in the dessert hardening their hearts towards Yah (God). We are to trust Him and follow His Torah (Law). Though today you will not be killed for not following it, like in today’s Numbers reading, you will not be allowed into eternal rest with Yah in heaven. We must keep our hearts, minds, eyes, and deeds focused on doing the will of Yah. Because we are human, we will fall short, but Yeshua (Jesus) gave His life as our sacrifice so that we may be forgiven or sins when we truly turn our hearts towards Him.

Shalom

“Today, if you hear God’s voice, don’t harden your hearts.”

- Messianic Jews (Hebrews) 4:7b CJB

Thought Of The Day: 02/09/21

As a Christian do you both show and feel love for your fellow brothers and sisters? I know that I struggle with this. I want to be a light shining for Jesus but then I find myself feeling anger towards a couple who have said mean things to my wife or towards certain politicians who are clearly saying one thing but doing another. Here is what the Bible says about this.

“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”
‭‭
- 1 John‬ ‭4:20‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I know that in my mind I love God and worship Him, but then read this verse and know that I still have changes I need to do in my heart. I do know that I am human and therefore am a sinner by nature, but I can always improve my thoughts and feelings by continuing to work on them and pray for strength and wisdom in this area. Don’t think that if you just speak out that you care for people that you can deceive God…

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
‭‭
- Hebrews‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God will always know your thoughts, feelings, and attitudes towards others. Nothing will get past Him. He will too though see that you are working on being better at truly caring for others, if in fact you truly are. I pray that we can all truly feel in our hearts about others what we display on the outside.

Change! Everything in the world changes at some point. Our jobs can change, the weather can change, our bodies change over time. You might even have change in your pocket. Tomorrow our leadership in America changes. With all this change one can wonder is there anything that stays the same? Anything that is consistent and reliable?

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
‭‭
- Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesus Christ, our Messiah, will never change. He will always be Who He always is and always was. His love will never change, His grace will never change, His compassion will never change. Jesus as He was in the Bible is still the same today and will still be the same tomorrow. His love for you will always remain the same no matter how many times you may mess up. I know that I mess up all the time, it’s part of being human. We are not perfect but He, Who is perfect, will always love us no matter what. Come to Jesus and accept His love. He will help change you into a better person and that is a good change.

Thought Of The Day: 11/5/20

Does Jesus or God change? Do I need to know what the new latest rules are from God? The answer is no. Jesus and God will never change.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
‭‭
- Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Though you may attend church to have fellowship with fellow believers, church should not replace the main place to look for any rules or commandments that God wants us to follow. The Bible is always the place to look and relook. Being in the Bible everyday will help give you the strength and wisdom to follow those commandments. When asked Jesus said there are two main commandments which cover all the commandments.

“Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.””
‭‭
- Matthew‬ ‭22:37-40‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If we could all follow these commandments the I believe that the world would be a better place to live.

God Bless
