Thought Of The Day: 01/26/21

This past weekend I was feeling a little bummed by the hard work week that was coming up and knowing that I haven’t heard a response yet to my prayers of what God wants me to be doing. With this the thought of “God must want me to just keep doing this crappy job” came into my head. Then on Sunday morning I saw this verse as the verse for the day.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
‭‭
- Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This verse helps remind me that God does have a plan and it may just be in the works right now. Maybe there are still a few things I need to learn or the time might not be right yet for something better. I need to use this verse to help remind me to keep praying add trusting that God has a plan that will be better than anything I could ever come up with. If you are feeling down as well hopefully this verse can help you too.

Thought Of The Day: 12/29/20

Have you ever wondered if God has a plan for you or what that plan may be? There are many times I have thought this. There are only a couple times that I can recall when I absolutely know what it is that God wants me to do. I felt Him sort of speaking to me, though it wasn’t in audible words. It’s as though I had been told it without being told. It’s just a strong feeling of knowing what it is that God wants me to do. I continue to pray today that I can continue to know what He wants me to do. I know that His plan will be better than any I have. I pray that you will be able to “hear” what plans God has for you.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

- Jeremiah‬ ‭29:11‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thought Of The Day: 11/17/20

Yesterday morning I had the plan of going into work early so that I could get a head start on my route for the week. When I went to shut the driver side door the latch wouldn’t latch shut. After a half hour or so of slamming and googling my wife heard from God to use WD40. I sprayed some of it on the door latch and it shut. I was a little frustrated but my wife reminded me that maybe God was just protecting me from something.

Have you ever had anything like that happen to you? I have had things like that happen many times. Sometimes the wait can only last a few minutes but sometimes it can last a few years. You pray for a new job or for a family member to open their heart to God or many other types of things and they never seem to come. We can wait and pray and pray and wait but it never seems like anything will change. Just remember that God has a plan.

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
‭‭
- 2 Peter‬ ‭3:8-9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We may have a hard time seeing it but God’s plan is ultimately what is best for us. We may wish for things to happen right now and even think God does not care when they don’t happen right away, but His plan is always what is best for us. I pray that we can all be patient and trust God with His timing.
